10 artisans will be exhibiting at 7 locations in and around the
Otway Hinterland village of Birregurra. With creative forms ranging
from earthy pottery to wearable textiles to handmade olive produce,
there will be plenty to see, learn and take home. This year, 3
gardeners will put their imaginations on display as they open their
distinctive gardens to the public.
Faced with dry conditions when she started creating her garden 12
years ago, Anna Hoedeman has developed an award winning drought
tolerant garden, which includes trees and plants from New Zealand.
Anna encourages visitors to bring along a picnic and a rug over
Easter so they can "take the garden in a bit". Anna will share
garden ideas over a cup of tea on her back veranda in Ennis
Street.
The monthly Birregurra Sunday Market will host free art activities
for children aged 3 - 12 to get creative and take something home -
a move coordinator Tom Dennis believes "offers a fun, cultural day
out for families whether they are holidaying at the coast or
enjoying their Easter break at home." The Market will have stalls
with local crafts and produce and roaming jazz performances between
10:00 - 2:00 on Easter Sunday.
Studios will be open 10am - 4pm on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 April.
Some venues may ask for a gold coin donation.
