Established as a dairy in 1900 Fernside Farm has gone back to its roots - offering goats milk soap and body care products from our stud herd of holistically raised Saanen milking goats. The all natural goats milk soap, indeed all the products, are handcrafted at the farm and the delightfully smelly Farm Shop is situated in the original farmhouse. Aaron and Karen took over Lorne Greens five years ago- an established Lorne institution for roughly thirty years. Situated in Lorne's "old precinct" by the Erskine River, Lorne Greens offers a large range of products in its rustic little store. Offering local and market fresh fruit and vegetable; local beef, lamb, pork and smallgoods; local and imported cheese, bread and wines; a delectable range of fresh and dried pasta and sauces. Including products from all over the world including a wide range of Asian ingredients and over fifty spice varieties. Anything grown locally will end up on Lorne Greens' shelves-beautiful artisan products. With a plentiful range of imported wares, you'll also find Asian, African and European products to help make your special dish. Everything from Asofoetida to Za'atar, Lorne Greens is worth a visit.

Otway Herbs

Otway Herbs is a nursery with a difference, set in large terraced garden with magnificent views across the Otway valleys and out to the ocean. It is situated high in the hills behind Skenes Creek 12kms by road from Apollo Bay, 8kms off the Great Ocean Road, via Wild Dog and Busty Roads. The nursery has been open since 1982 and is well known for the huge variety of plants, with an emphasis on herbs but also growing fragrant plants, salvias, perennials, medicinal's, shrubs and trees, and indigenous natives. The plants are all propagated on site using biodynamic compost, using biodynamic methods in the garden for 20 years. The nursery and garden is open every day from 9am to 5pm, there is no entry fee but donations to maintain the garden are welcome. Also for sale is the gardens own dried packaged herb tea, oregano etc, massage oils and herbal body and face creams. Children are welcome to play in the large sand pit or explore the large garden with its many sculptures. Dogs are also allowed as long as they are well behaved and don't chase the many birds that live in the garden.

Precious Creatures

Precious Creatures, a children's clothing and toy store, opened its doors in 2005. In the years that followed the store expanded to include a full range of kid's sizes housing brands such as Brightbots, Rhubarb, Oobi and Minymo. Precious Creatures also stocks children's swimwear, perfect for a dip in the ocean across the road. Toys and games are wonderful for the growing minds of children. Particular favourites of owners Caroline and Mark are Djeco, Manhatten Toy Company and Papo with its princes and princesses, dragons, fabulous creatures and castles. Precious Creatures also look after your treasured dogs and cats stocking a range of collars and leads, brushes, balls and some Kong accessories. Sharky's Lorne is now the biggest surf apparel and accessory retailer in Lorne. An exciting store of surfboards and skateboards, wetsuits, clothing, backpacks, watches and more. If you've left something behind or want the latest surf or skate gear, visit Sharky's. One of the main reasons people visit Lorne is to surf or to enjoy the surf culture. Sharky's Lorne is the hub of Lorne's surf life. Sharky's was established in 1989, named after one of Lorne's local legends. "Sharky", for those who don't know, was a brave Lorne local who swam between the Lorne Pier and foreshore each day risking his life as 'shark bait'. During summer, Sharky sat on the wall near the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club (a chair now commemorates his life) telling tales of the surf and sea.
