The Queenscliff Music Festival (QMF) Chair Ms Lisa Meyers, is
pleased to announce applications for this year's QMF Scholarship
are now open.
Lisa said "The Scholarship supports local musicians, early in their
career, in accord with our mission of Excellence, Discovery and
Community. It aims to provide an individual/s with the
opportunity to enhance their musical career and thus support
emerging talent in the regions of Geelong, Barwon South West and
the Bellarine Peninsula. The grant is for projects up to
$10,000."
Last year's winners Ms Izzy Losi and Ms Catherine Sanzaro have
already been great ambassadors, and at the recent QMF AGM gave a
presentation on the projects for which they received funding in
2011. They also entertained members with their musical
talents during dinner. Members were delighted to know that
their volunteer work meant they were part of the team creating
opportunities for early career musicians.
Izzy will be mastering a new CD in July, with the aim of promoting
her music via social networking, iTunes and a promotional
tour. Izzy said "with the income generated from my CD sales I
aim to continue my passion to be a songstress, vocalist and
pianist."
Catherine has purchased equipment including a mixer, equalizer,
microphone and amplifier. She said: "I have started my own
business as a musician including development of my own artwork, and
I am very excited about the opportunity to perform at private
functions, local festivals and cafes."

development of local music - one that will make a difference to
QMF's long term future. For $25 you can become a member of the QMF

directly to the Scholarship fund. Friends of Festival
