The latest exhibition to open at the National Wool Museum in
Geelong is Sports Alive!, an interactive 'try your hand' exhibition
for children and families from Science Alive! in New Zealand.
Explore the scientific principles behind sport in a fun and
entertaining way as you run, jump, throw, bat, kick, row, putt and
cycle your way around this highly interactive exhibition.
Sports Alive! gives visitors of all ages the chance to experiment
with a range of different sporting activities including soccer,
golf, cycling and rowing and to discover why exercise is so
important in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Participants can also
learn more about the way our bodies work and how we can look after
our bodies through healthy eating and exercise.
Sports Alive! has been built to rekindle the joy of activity
through sport and the excitement and challenge of competition.
Eight major sporting codes provide a competitive challenge that
allows families, friends and workmates to compete one on one then
test their skills with jumping, balancing and reaction
activities.
Test the speed and accuracy of your rugby pass or climb on bikes
and race over a virtual 3D course where the finish line is in site.
Find out who has the fastest reaction time and who can jump the
highest and longest.
Geelong is the first Australian venue for the Sports Alive! touring
show (as well as the only Victorian venue).
The exhibition runs from Monday 12th March through to Sunday
13th May.
