An exciting new era has unfolded at
Geelong's most inviting waterfront dining destination, Baveras
Brasserie.
The picturesque venue a short stroll
down Cunningham Pier has undergone an 'extreme make-over', with a
recent refurbishment, new staff and new menu combining to deliver a
new focus on casual fine dining.
Hospitality expert David Wainwright is leading the charge as
Restaurant Manager and said locals would be thrilled to discover
the venue was now the kind of place they would want to visit
several times a week.
"The focus is on being simple, uncomplicated and fresh…the
atmosphere here is so relaxed that people come in for coffee and a
sweet treat after a walk, a gourmet breakfast, a lovely lunch or a
wine, through to an evening meal," he said.
"And the prices are indicative of that."
While the sweeping water views and cosy-chic design are central
to the venue's star appeal, it's the delights from the kitchen that
have everybody talking.
An international mix of chefs from as far afield as Japan and
Brazil to China, Germany, Korea and Samoa are serving a delectable,
modern Australian menu that takes advantage of the Bellarine's
quality regional produce to showcase their talents.
At lunch and dinner a 'Starters' menu has been designed with
sharing in mind, allowing diners to enjoy several taste sensations
and the relaxed atmosphere that allows. Blue swimmer crab with a
bisque that takes 14 hours to prepare, along with house-made pate
and pan-seared scallops are just some of the irresistible
options.
Lunch and dinner 'Mains' vary from Asian-style pork belly, red
curry confit duck leg and house-made thyme linguine with prawns to
pasture-fed eye fillet and King George whiting.
Diners can also choose an Express Lunch ($19.90 with a glass of
beer, wine or soft drink) which delivers on the casual fine dining
promise while staying true to the "in and out in an hour" mantra.
This makes the Express Lunch an ideal 'escape' during the busy
working week.
Baveras Brasserie is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch
& dinner (excluding Sunday evenings) and offers an irresistible
breakfast menu, a wonderful selection of local wines and a
mouth-watering array of ever-changing cakes and pastries, all house
made by a dedicated pastry chef.
The 'gem' of the venue is the stunning private dining room,
boasting the best views in town, seating up to 20 guests in a warm,
inviting atmosphere. It's available to hire for private functions
& meetings.
