Lavers Hill

Lavers Hill is situated on the Great Ocean Road between Port Campbell and Apollo Bay, on the inland section of the road, north-west of Cape Otway, and at the junction of the roads to Cobden and Colac.

The town centre caters well for tourists, featuring a number of cafes, a pub with a bistro, and tourist information.  The landmark wood sculpture at the junction of the Great Ocean Road and Colac Road is the "Drift", which is a tribute to the marine environment, prehistoric skeletal finds, shipwrecks and the agricultural machinery of the area, designed by artist James Catell.

Lavers Hill is an area noted for scenic beauty with the Great Otway National Park surrounding much of the town.  The Melba Gully section, located just south of the town centre boasts ancient rainforests during the day and glow worm viewing on trails at night.

Lavers Hill is a central point to access some of the Otways beaches, rainforests and waterfalls.

  • Johanna Beach - 12km south east.
  • Glenaire / Castle Cove - 15km south east.
  • Melba Gully - 4km west.
  • Triplet Falls & Little Aire Falls - 16km north east.
  • Otway Fly Treetop Adventures - 15km north east, a spectacular 600 metre long, 25 metre high elevated treetop walk.
