GRAB YOUR BOARD, MAKE FOR THE BREAK AND TEETER ON SOME OF AUSTRALIA’S BEST WAVES.
Warrnambool has a dramatic location on a plateau behind a steep bluff, defined by rivers to the east and west, overlooking sheltered Lady Bay. There are interesting historical buildings and attractive streetscapes, but perhaps the biggest surprise is the range of superb beaches right at the city's front door. Make your dream home in the sand with turrets adorned with seaweed and shells, then take a well-earned refreshing dip in the cool waters of the bay. Grab your board and make for the break as you teeter on some of Australia’s best waves.
Warrnambool offers all the services expected of a vibrant, modern city whilst maintaining the atmosphere of a relaxed country town.
With a range of clean sheltered beaches at the city's front door, manicured parks and gardens, visiting whales, notorious shipwrecks, unique volcanoes, contemporary art and exhilarating sports, there is certainly something for everyone.
Tower Hill, located 14 km west of Warrnambool before Port Fairy is one of the most fascinating geological formations in Victoria. After good rain, hills on the floor of a massive volcanic crater are surrounded by a shallow lake.
There are amazing views overlooking the lake and the island-hills from the rim of the crater across to Port Fairy. There are several walks, picnic facilities and plenty of wildlife.
