Day 1
Torquay's cafe culture provides a great start to your journey. Have a relaxed brunch and then travel on to Anglesea.
Here you will find the Great Ocean Road Chocolatiere, opened in September 2016, for an immersive chocolate tasting experience. A must for the chocolate enthusiast.
You'll find many options for dinner and overnight accommodation in Anglesea or nearby Aireys Inlet.
Day 2
The spectacular section of the Great Ocean Road between Anglesea & Lorne will give you an appetite for a hearty brunch. In Lorne you will find many fantastic options. Take a walk along the foreshore to the Pier to experience the stunning beach here.
Head inland to the Pennyroyal Valley and explore the Otway Harvest Trail. The food from this area is a reflections of the fertile soil in the Otways and those who produce it are passionate about their product. Visit some farm doors and dine in Birregurra or Forrest for a true Otways dining experience.
Day 3
Head East for exploration of the 12 Apostles Coast and Hinterland.
Hint: for a sumptuous stop off on the way try the Devonshire Tea with yummy homemade scones at the Cape Otway Lightstation
The fertile country soil around Timboon and Port Campbell near the 12 Apostles provides delicious rewards for the visitor! The 12 Apostles Gourmet Trail includes farm doors, and experiences where you can delight in artisan cheeses, chocolates, ice-cream, wine, whiskey and even snails! All grown or produced in the region.
Day 4
Begin your day in Warrnambool, a thriving regional city offering a large selection of cafes and eateries perfect for breakfast or brunch. Here you can quietly explore Logans Beach (famous for Whale spotting) or Lake Pertobe - with an abundance of family activities. Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village offers an insight into the remarkable shipwreck history of this dramatic coastline.
Travel on the Port Fairy, a beautiful, historic seaside village where you can indulge in high tea at Time & Tide. A favourite of ours!!
Day 5
Portland is the place to go fishing. If you want to experience the big catch come in Tuna season when fishing charters take guest out to experience catching their own. Not into doing the hard yards? That's okay because the catch that is fresh off the boat in the working fishing port is available to buy or if you feel your journey is missing the quintessential seaside dining experience - this is the place to enjoy THE best Fish & Chips!
