7 OF OUR FAVOURITE GREAT OCEAN ROAD BEER GARDENS

by GREAT OCEAN ROAD

Nothing says summer like lazing away the afternoon in a beer garden with great friends. Along the Great Ocean Road, there’s no shortage of outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy a beverage or two.

  1. Merrijig Inn
Port Fairy’s Merrijig Inn offers a beer garden shaded by famous Norfolk Pines overlooking the Moyne River. Grab a home-grown cocktail, local wine or beer and let the day unfold.
  2. Great Ocean Road Brewhouse
Apollo Bay’s brewhouse has more than 100 craft beers on offer. Claiming a table in the ocean-view beer garden is a summer right of passage.
  3. Wishart’s Gallery, Port Fairy
Much more than an art gallery! Discover the Wishart Gallery’s lush al fresco bar and dining zone and you’ll never look back.
  4. Forrest Brewing Company
Detour into the rainforest coolness for beer garden goodness at Forrest Brewing Company, equal parts microbrewery, eating place and mountain bike hang-out.
  5. Great Ocean Road Gin Garden, Aireys Inlet
You never know who you’ll meet in the tasting rooms and garden at Aireys.
  6. Timboon Railway Shed Distillery
Enjoy a country lunch at the Timboon Railway Shed Distillery surrounded by lush pastures and dairy cows.
  7. Bomboras Restaurant and Pop Up Bar
Bomboras is a Torquay institution. With ocean views and shady umbrellas, it’s perfect for soaking up the local surf vibe.
