From festivals and fireworks to dance parties and race-day kids activities, the Great Ocean Road is the place to bring in the new year in sparkling fashion.

  1. Flagstaff Hill – New Year’s Eve on the Hill
    Family-friendly, fun and safe on your wishlist? Head to Warrnambool’s Flagstaff Hill and claim a spot on the green from 5pm for live music, family entertainment and a view of the 9.30pm fireworks.
  2. Falls Festival Lorne. With a killer line-up across 4 days, Falls Festival Lorne is a tradition and a pilgrimage that everyone should make at least once in a lifetime. The event usually sells out, so be prepared to beg or borrow a pass.
  3. Warrnambool Woodford Cup
    Gates open at midday for this family-friendly country horse race meeting. On-course live entertainment runs all day, including live music, free kids’ activities, raffles and fashions on the field.
  4. Moyneyana Festival – Street Parade
    Port Fairy’s Moyneyana Festival serves up free all day and night family entertainment including a street parade, live music and midnight fireworks.
  5. DJ Chook and Moluck – New Year’s Eve party
    At Great Ocean Road Brewhouse (Apollo Bay), celebrate the year that was with friends, great tunes, cool vibes and a drink or two.
