HOW GOOD IS THE ‘BOOL
There’s one event on the calendar that stands above all else in the minds and hearts of regional Victorian’s.
GREAT OCEAN ROAD RUNNING FESTIVAL
The long-awaited weekend had arrived. It was race day! The warmth of the sun could be felt peaking through the gap in the blinds; a crisp Autumn morning that defied every weather forecast across the state. I pulled on my active wear, fitted my runners and prepared my breakfast.
RUN FORREST & THE OTWAY SOUP FESTIVAL
On the outskirts of the Great Otway National Park, lies the township of Forrest. A quaint rural community that plays host to the Otway Soup Festival. Yes, that’s right. A festival dedicated to soup. The only one of its kind in Victoria! The day’s schedule coincides with the Run Forrest event; a trail run that takes competitors through the popular and extensive mountain bike tracks in the area.
FUN4KIDS FESTIVAL WARRNAMBOOL
During Winter school holidays, many children find themselves cooped up at home in front of a telly; however, that’s not how kids in Warrnambool do it.
WINTER WEEKENDS FESTIVAL PORT FAIRY
The Winter Weekends festival embraces the cooler months of June and July to exhibit the uplifting people of Port Fairy and its remarkable structures and landscapes. The program spans over four weekends, the third of which has a major focus on photography.
'DONT LOOK AWAY'', INSTRUCTS THE WINTER WILD FESTIVAL
“Don’t look away”, instructs the Winter Wild Festival… Seriously do not! I can guarantee you will have to see it to believe it. One of the newest and more peculiar events on the Great Ocean Road has risen from the depths of Winter in Apollo Bay. The Shipwreck Coast is beaming with visitors during warmer months but only brave souls conquer the road during Winter.
