EXPERIENCE THE HEALING POWER OF WARRNAMBOOL'S HOT SPRINGSby LAUREN ORERO
Did you know there are geothermal baths in Warrnambool?
Located at the Deep Blue Hotel and Hot Springs right on the town's foreshore, the public baths are filled with mineral-rich water drawn from an ancient source deep underground.
The water arrives at the surface at between 38°C to 45°C, and is known to promote physical and emotional rest, relaxation, healing and well-being.
Guests from all over the world, as well as the locals, relish the indoor public bathhouse (for all ages), and the outside hot springs Sanctuary, where guests over 18 years can retreat for up to four hours.
The Sanctuary...a place to reflect or reconnect
The Sanctuary is a quiet, calm space in nature where guests can freely move about the hot baths, plunge pools, gardens and undercover Nourish Dome (see below). No matter if you’re with friends, your partner, or by yourself - you'll feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed during your morning or afternoon session.
There are several geothermal baths of varying depths, shapes and sizes; mindfully curated throughout the sanctuary gardens and in the caves that have been painstakingly constructed to simulate the local rock coastline. There are trickling waterfalls, reclining seating made from basalt boulders, subtle lighting and soft music. One bath has natural aromatherapy oils gentle dispersed into the water, whilst the Reflection Pool beautifully reflects the sky above.
In the centre of the Sanctuary is the undercover Nourish Dome, where you can replenish and rehydrate your body between bathing sessions or salt therapy. The grazing menu includes wellness bowls, healthy snacks and smoothies with detoxing elixirs.
The Salt Room
There is a Salt Room located at the Deep Blue Hotel and Hot Springs. Salt therapy helps cleanse the lungs and respiratory system, and has been used in Europe for more than 150 years. While you relax in the reclining chairs, a safe and controlled level of (medical grade) dry salt particles is gently dispersed through the air. The 45-minute treatment can also improve sleep, sports performance and recovery and skin and encourage stress relief.
Stay a while
We have 80 rooms to choose from, including penthouse suites with ocean views. We also have a restaurant open for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The professional day spa offers face and body treatments in luxurious surroundings, performed by qualified therapists. Our complex, which is situated right next to the foreshore, breakwater and Middle Island is a great base for exploring Warrnambool.
