About the listing

A hilarious production of a young woman’s positivity against adversity.

One of Northern Ireland’s leading theatre companies, c21 brings their latest production, ‘May the Road Rise Up’ to Port Fairy.

A fast paced, black comedy, it focuses on a young woman’s boundless positivity in the face of extreme adversity and touches on realistic problems. The play follows Belfast native Mia, along her hilarious yet bumpy road called life.

Written by prolific Belfast playwright Rosemary Jenkinson, this one-woman show is directed by c21 co-founder Stephen Kelly, produced by Tom Finlay and stars award-winning actress Christine Clare as the lively and boisterous Mia.

Saturday night's performance will be followed by a Q and A with playwright Rosemary Jenkinson, director Stephen Kelly and actress Christine Clare. Running time is 90 minutes.

The National Celtic Festival is excited to present this work connecting Ireland's City of Belfast to what was the Shire of Belfast in Victoria.
