Whether you’re a road cyclist, love the energy of mountain biking, are looking for your next event challenge or are searching for a cruisy leisure ride, there are so many options on wheels available to you as you experience the Surf Coast. Get on your bike and head to the Anglesea Bike Park for Cyclo-cross and trails for all abilities (find it on Camp Road).
Bring your mountain bike and take a hike through the scenic bushy trails surrounding Anglesea exploring the Great Otway National Park on tracks around Eumeralla and on named tracks through the park (seasonal closures apply). For more information and maps drop into one of the MTB specialists in town like Trailhead Bike Co.
Discover the waterfall walks of the Great Ocean road in Lorne and the Otways.
There is a variety of small and longer walks suitable for family trips, hikers, strollers and explorers.
Did you know Lorne has more than ten waterfalls within ten kilometres? There's plenty to explore and walks suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Best of all, they look their best in winter when the crowds aren't there.
Surf and beach culture flows through the veins of the small towns along the Great Ocean Road. It peaks in Torquay, the home of surfing including the Australian National Surfing Museum and birthplace of iconic surf brands including Rip Curl and Quiksilver. Just out of Torquay is world famous Bells Beach, where the best surfers in the world gather annually at Easter to compete for the coveted Bell trophy.
This is only the tip of surfing on the Surf Coast. A coastline of 55km dotted with many surf breaks along the way.
