At the outbreak of World War II, an airfield was constructed beside the little town of Cressy, and was used by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), to train Air Crew, from 1939 to 1946.
Today this quaint little rural town is seeing the old-World War Two RAAF base coming back to life.
With new Hangars to house our aircraft, we are now opening the doors for the general public to come and see this site, and our aircraft.
The Aerodrome has a rich history relating to the RAAF, and we are endeavouring to tell the stories of the people who worked and served there.
The Cressy Aerodrome is also home to two aircraft.
“Millie”, our Tiger Moth, is the pride of our fleet. She can be seen in the skies above our local area conducting joy flights, for those adventurous souls.
Our other aircraft is ‘India” a Beechcraft Baron. This aircraft is available for “Charter Flights” to many places around Victoria, and further afield in Australia, if requested.
We have limited opens days and hours, but if you’re traveling and staying in the aera, feel free to contact us so we can make arrangements for your visit.
