A HAVEN FOR BIRDLIFE & NATIVE ANIMALS
The stretch of coastline between Lorne and Apollo Bay is some of the most picturesque in the region. The Great Ocean Road hugs the cliff-face as it winds through the Great Otway National Park and rolling farmland.
Kennett River, located half way between Lorne and Apollo Bay, and only a short trip from Wye River, offers safe and pristine beach - patrolled during the peak season - and is known as a reliable break for the more experienced surfer. The stretch of coastline is a spectacular point to spot dolphins, seals and whales (during whale-watching season May - September).
NATIVE ANIMALS ABOUND
Native animals are certainly not shy in the area. In fact the Grey River Road is one of the most popular stops to spot koalas, king parrots, rosellas and kookaburras.
Grey River Road runs leads you up to the Great Otway National Park, which is a nature lover's dream.
